In an already saturated market for magazines, Freeq (pronounced ‘freak’) has fought off the competition to bring music lovers the best in independent, underground and upcoming music from a range of bands, artists and DJ’s.

Freeq captures the imagination with a unique blend of independent music, graphic design and social awareness. It aims to celebrate and support emerging talents throughout all music genres - from rock to folk, punk to hip-hop and indie to chillout.  

After the launch of a very successful pilot issue back in February, Freeq have decided it is high time to give music lovers and musicians alike what they have been hungering for. On the 16th May, the very first issue of Freeq will be hitting the towns of Leicester, Loughborough, Derby, Nottingham and Sheffield, showcasing the best new music from the East Midlands, Yorkshire and the rest of the UK. Readers can expect exclusive features, interviews, reviews and gig listings - plus a detailed preview of this summer’s festivals both in the UK and abroad.   

To celebrate the shining debut of Freeq, the magazine is holding a launch party on the 15th May at Nottingham’s own Junktion 7 Venue. Local press, VIPs and dedicated musos will enjoy to a night to remember with live music from:
